Saguaro National Park Expansion
Congressman Grijvala has sponsored the Saguaro National Park Boundary Expansion and Study Act of 2009, which is still under consideration in this session of Congress. TMA recently worked with the National Parks Conservation Association (NPCA) to support the passage of a resolution by the Pima County Board of Supervisors. The resolution supports the expansion of Saguaro National Park — both on the East and West sides of town. The County resolution may enhance the receptiveness of the Senate related to supporting this bill. We contacted two members of the Board (Sharon Bronson and Richard Elias) and requested that they co-sponsor the resolution. The NPCA and Rincon Institute contacted other Board members and requested their support. The resolution is provided as a PDF. Click here to review. |
